Hello, and welcome! If you're reading this, that means you're currently browsing the We All Volunteer website - a great decision by you, if I do say so myself. So what is We All Volunteer, and why is it a great decision to sign up for yet another online account?

We All Volunteer is an online portal designed to connect nonprofit agencies in the Metrowest Boston area with volunteers from the communities they serve (and beyond). I'll explain a bit about what we offer both to agencies and to volunteers in a moment, but the big idea is that we can bring everyone together to encourage volunteer engagement, spread the word about big events, and make sure that projects that benefit the community have the people they need to do their good work.

This website helps volunteers by showing you all the different ways you can help. Each agency can post needs - tasks of all kinds that they need volunteer help in order to accomplish. Volunteers can search different needs, sign up for a time that works for them, and go do the work they're passionate about. If you're the kind of person who gets overwhelmed by too many choices, never fear - the website will make recommendations based on your interests. And if there's an agency or two you really like, you can become a fan to better track new needs and events when they're posted. You can record the hours you served either by checking in and out during the need or by submitting your hours after the fact. The site will track your hours, showing you how valuable your time is to all the organizations you've served.

If you work with a nonprofit agency, you can use We All Volunteer to find and communicate with volunteers. You can share your needs with the site's volunteer base, organize volunteer opportunities for corporate or church groups, and publicize events (like fundraisers, community celebrations, and - might I suggest? - volunteer appreciation days). You'll have a good idea of how many volunteers are coming for each shift, helping you plan and maximize how effective your volunteers can be while they're serving your agency. There's a lot more information about needs, events, user groups, and the other features of the site in the Help section.

A bit about me: I'm Andrew, one of the site managers for We All Volunteer. It's my job to help the site run smoothly for everyone so you can worry less about tech and get to the important work you came here to do, so feel free to ask me any questions you have! I work with Daniel's Table, the agency overseeing the website, and you'll see me write here every so often. The plan is to use this space to talk about the site, highlight different agencies and the work they're doing, share random volunteering facts, and bring attention to major events or initiatives in the Metrowest area.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about We All Volunteer, and happy volunteering!
